Are You An Over-Scheduler?

  • Are you an overscheduler? Symptoms may include:

  • Headache

  • Sleep issues

  • Heart palpitations

  • Racing mind

  • Always late

  • You take care of everyone but yourself

The good news is there is help!! The first step is recognizing the fact that you are an overscheduler. It’s not your fault. Society today tells us we can do it all, we can have it all, we can be everything to everyone. The truth is, for many of us, we just can’t do it all. Once you’ve identified the problem, take these steps for immediate relief.


  1. Take a step back and look at everything you are doing. Make a list if you need to.

  2. Do some soul searching. Do you really need to do everything? Could you teach someone else to assist? Can your 16 year old make his own breakfast, do his own laundry, etc.

  3. Start to make small changes. Just start saying NO once in a while. Then say it a little more. Before you know it, you’re a pro!

  4. Prioritize yourself. Do something for yourself every day. Again, you can start small then build. Maybe it’s just taking 5 minutes to yourself to read and inspirational book. Lock yourself in the bathroom if you must.
